We provide political and legal advice to civil society organizations, activists, and journalists, particularly in the defense of fundamental and human rights as well as in progressive projects. To this end, we regularly support advocacy work, e.g., by drafting statements or bills. The examination and implementation of strategic lawsuits is another focus of our work. Strategic litigation is not only aimed at asserting individual rights in specific cases. It also aims to initiate social and political discourse and bring about legal changes that go beyond the individual case. To this end, it may also be appropriate to accompany proceedings with press and campaign work.

We have been working in and for NGOs for many years and have extensive experience in strategic litigation, including the filing of constitutional complaints. We have been personally involved in many legislative processes, including as experts in the Bundestag (German Federal Parliament) and state parliaments.

We also advise on issues relating to association and non-profit law, as well as press and freedom of expression law. For activities that take place in legal gray areas (e.g., civil disobedience, investigative research), we advise and defend civil society actors in criminal proceedings.

We see legal means as instruments for promoting progressive projects. We are also happy to advise and support you on how these means can be meaningfully complemented by other creative and effective methods and actions.
